| CLEARANCE (6) Definition: A clearance in football (soccer) and some other sports is when a player kicks or hits the ball away from the goal of his or her own team. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, but only if not an errant action. 2. Kick or hit is timely, when it (ball) cannot be ruled as having crossed all of the line! 3. Kick or hit is not against the body of another player or official (or part of the structure - post, etc.) that leads ball to somehow end up inside the goal! 4. No injury to the legs, hands, head(s), etc. used to clear ball off the line (to emphasize). 5. Action contributes or contributed to the team of player who kicked or hit ball away, not losing or not losing by a particular margin. 6. No fallout(s) from the 'save', such as an attack by a fan/supporter of the opposing team, a gambler, etc. _________________________________________ LOOK, ... ANYWHERE WILL DO, ... FOR NOW ...
