Retainership
RETAINERSHIP

Definition: A formal agreement where a client pays a service provider, such as a lawyer or health-care professional, a retainer fee for ongoing access to their services, expertise, or availability.

1. Purposeful and necessary for all involved.

2. Voluntarily entered into by all the parties.

3. Written, signed & delivered (see definition).

4. Details in agreement specific and identifiable (conditions), measurable and assessable (duration), real and realistic (terms).

5. Unplanned loss by way of over-expenditure not going to be suffered, especially by client, or underperformance of the provider.

6. Agreement serving purpose(s) and achieving objective(s), for the signatories, whether renewed or terminated at the end of its lifespan.

Annual?

SOME FEE as should be mutually agreed on.

Biannual?

ANY CASE covered by the agreement signed.

Quarter?

NO EXCUSE for absence or non-performance.

Biennial?

A CONTRACT needing no dispute resolution.
