| RETAINERSHIP Definition: A formal agreement where a client pays a service provider, such as a lawyer or health-care professional, a retainer fee for ongoing access to their services, expertise, or availability. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should and would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for all involved. 2. Voluntarily entered into by all the parties. 3. Written, signed & delivered (see definition). 4. Unplanned loss by way of over-expenditure not going to be suffered, especially by client, or underperformance of the provider. 6.
