| CIVILIZATION (1) Definition: A state of human society that is very developed and organized. ______________________________________________________________________ * All fourteen elements should be in. 1. Development (= infrastructures, facilities, etc.) is truly advanced and organization (= system, administration, etc.) is very excellent (see definition). 2. Lower animals are appropriately treated and respected. 3. Law and order reigns supreme. That is, there is a very great degree of safety, security and protection of lives and properties, for all of the inhabitants. 4. Immigrants, if any, have been fully integrated into the various communities in the society. 5. Growth and development was progressively gradual. That is, situation was reached or attained in stages. 6. Education and knowledge is advanced and up-to-date. That is, people in the society are well-informed. 7. Technology is current and advancing: ahead of the other societies around or of its age. And this is still being improved on! 8. No racism or bigotry or terrorism or barbarism or ... in the society. That is, the people are reasonable and right-thinking. 9. Society has no visible vestiges of ancient or 'stone-age' advancements - except in the museum(s), research institution(s), reserved area(s), etc. if any, where applicable. 10. The environment is adequately protected and its naturalness sustained, by the people and/or institutions in the society.. 11. Research, research and development, etc. into and of life under the oceans and/or in outer space is given priority and ongoing. (Hey, what, for God's sake, is out there?!) 12. The past, that is, the history of the society's evolution is comprehensively documented and recalled, whenever necessary. 13. Position occupied is being aimed at by the other less developed societies (connect to #14). 14. Abilities or capabilities, that is, the knowledge possessed is shared with friends and allies, for the good and benefit of the world at large.
