| CIVIL DEFENCE Definitions: i. (British English) The organization and training of ordinary people to protect themselves from attack during a war or, in the US, from natural disasters such as hurricanes. ii. The organization and training or ordinary people in a country so that they can help the armed forces, medical services or police force, for example if the country is attacked by an enemy. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, to be ready for an emergency. 2. Registered and regulated by law. That is, organization is recognized and has legal authority. 3. Its headship or administration will be effective and efficient. 4. The training that it offers to its members will be fit-for purpose and of the highest quality required to perform roles. 5. The foot soldiers will be motivated to perform duties maximally. 6. None of the members will have dual citizenship (to emphasize). 7. Organization will be well-funded and have the wherewithal to deliver service whenever called upon to do so. 8. Achieves goal(s) or serves purpose(s).
