| CITY SLICKER Definition: (informal, often disapproving) A person who behaves in a way that is typical of people who live in big cities. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six or seven or eight elements, as applicable, would be in. 1. Purposeful for the 'actor'. 2. Behaviour is in the right location - in smaller cities or in towns that are not as big as the city of residence. (To emphasize.) 3. Behaviour is exhibited in the presence of the right audience: people who are impressionable; that have never lived in or visited big cities! Or who are less confident or intelligent than this person. 4. The behaiour is of the appropriate kind: self-regarding, self-conscious and self-conceited; not self-effacing but not necessarily arrogant or selfish/snobbish. 5. The words spoken, if applicable, will be pompous, verbose or chic. 6. Walk, gait, poise, step, etc., if movement is involved, will be with an attitude, a swagger or cocky. 7. Person will be impossible to be stifled. That is, person cannot be 'quietened', stopped or made to stop, once behaviour is on. 8.
