| CHILDISHNESS Definition: (disapproving) (of an adult) The act of behaving in a stupid or silly way that is connected with or typical of a child. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Purposeless (connect to #2 & #8). 2. Not planned deliberately to behave like a kid. 3. Behaviour will surprise, or pleasantly surprises a child, even if child participates or enjoys the tomfoolery. ___________ 4. No real gain or benefit from the behaviour, unless the adult has the mental age of a child (to emphasize). 5. Behaviour is or will not be supported or encouraged by a normal adult (= grown up). And stupidity or silliness is pointed out to the childish one (to emphasize, connect to #6). ___________ 6. 'Fool' is not penalized, sanctioned or punished for stupid or silly behaviour. That is, adult does not truly or will not really regret his or her foolish acts/actions. 7.
