| CHIEF (2) Definition: (often as a title) A leader or ruler of a people or community. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary (see definition). 2. Not self-appointed. That is attained position in a proper, legal, recognized and approved manner. And therefore recognized by the law and neighbouring communities. In other words, selection processes are not in dispute or disputed. 3. Has appropriate self-regard and/or is self-respecting. That is, person has self-discipline, self-worth, etc. ___________ JUNIOR CHIEF... 4. Respected in turn, if not revered, by the led (= followers) or the ruled (= subjects) (connect to #3). 5. Person has no term or tenure, that is, headship of people or community is not subject to a renewal. 6. Never does a wrong or commit an abomination, illegality or scandal that will earn him or her a suspension or dethronement. (Connect to #3 & #4.) ___________ HIGH CHIEF OR ... 7. This leader or ruler is a member of a council of chiefs! That is, person is no King/Queen! (To emphasize, see definition.) 8.
