| TIMOCRACY Definitions: i. A form of government in which property is a qualification for office: one in which ambition and desire for honour is a ruling principle. ii. (philosophy) A form of government in which possession of property is required in order to hold office. iii. A form of government in which rulers are motivated by ambition or love of honour. iv. A state where only property owners may participate in government. v. A form of government in which people must own property in order to be part of government. vi. Government in which a certain amount of property is necessary for office. viii.
