CHEQUE

Definition: (British English) A printed form that you can write on and sign as a way of paying for something instead of using money.

1. Purposeful and necessary.

2. Original print on the form is clear.

3. Form is the official one printed by the issuing bank!

4. What is written or printed on document by payer/issuer is clear.

5. Writing is correct and complete (connect to #4).

6. Account on which cheque is drawn is with a credit balance, not overdrawn or in 'the red'.

7. Form has a stub and is attached to and easily detachable from it.

8. Form has appropriate and complete details - payee's name(s), account/sort code/leaf, etc. number, bank details and logo, address, date space, other necessary instructions, security code, etc. as applicable.

9. Signature, thumbprint, etc. is on form to confirm authenticity.
