Definitions:

i. (give chase) To begin to run after somebody/something in order to catch them.

ii. (give chase) To go after someone or something quickly in order to catch them.

1. Purposeful and necessary for who tries to catch a person or thing.

2. Commences at the right time - when gap or lead is not unassailable.

3. State of health of pursuer will be believed able to sustain run.

4. It will be hoped that prey will cause no unplanned loss, if caught.

5. Continues for only as long as target is in sight. (To emphasize.)

6. Can be called off, by pursuer, for whatever reason; run will end.

7. Effort will cause no unplanned loss for who is doing the chasing.

8. 'Run' will be active, unyielding while on. That is, there will be no slowdown or reduction in speed, pause or rest, while in pursuit.
