| CHASE (1) Definition: (often used with the) An act of running or driving after somebody/something in order to catch them. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eleven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful - especially for the pursuer! 2. Necessity, in the opinion of runner/driver to catch person/thing. That is, there is a reason or justification or basis for pursuit. 3. Subject or object of pursuit is the right one - legal, authorized and/or approved, as applicable. ___________ FOR WHATEVER REASON (in the room ...). 4. Target is always in view or within 'radar'. That is, running or driving is in the right direction! And at the right speed/pace, whether slow, average or fast. 5. No 'killing' exhaustion or burn-out from the activity, especially for the pursuer. That is, appropriate energy is employed and no likelihood of collapse of the pursuer, immediately after person/thing is caught. ___________ HOWEVER LONG IT LASTS (on a race/sprint, etc. track ...). 6. No injury, wound or unplanned loss to person or thing running or driving after another, from the pursuit. 7. Pursuit is concluded without an injury to person/thing being chased, unless the intention is to deliberately injure/damage 'prey'. ___________ TO WHEREVER (... underwater, or in 'outer space'). 8. Person or thing is caught, soon or eventually. That is, pursuit is not in perpetuity and is not a wild goose chase! 9. No illegality was committed during the process by the 'hunter' and/or the 'hunted'. ___________ HOWEVER ! (assisted or by sole effort). 10. Person or thing cannot escape after he/she/it is caught. 11. Catch serves purpose(s). ___________ WHENEVER (even if chase is to the 'end of the world'). | |
