| MOLINISM (1) Definitions: i. The doctrine of the 16th-century Spanish Jesuit Luis Molina, reconciling predestination and free will by God's foreknowledge, the efficacy of grace depending on the co-operation of the will. ii. A doctrine that it is man's free cooperation which makes it possible for him to perform a good act with God's helping grace. iii. A system of thought that seeks to reconcile the sovereignty of God and the free will of man. iv.
