| MUCK-RAKER Definitions: i. A person, especially one in a news organization, who tries to find out unpleasant information about people or organizations in order to make it public. ii. A person who searches for and tries to expose real or alleged corruption, scandal, or other wrongdoing, especially in politics. iii. Someone who spreads scandals, usually for political advantage. iv, A person who looks for and publishes information about people's private lives. v. A sensationalist, scandalmongering journalist, one who is not driven by any social principles. vi. A journalist, author, or filmmaker who investigates and exposes issues that are generally shocking to the public. vii. Name given to a progressive journalist and writer in the early 20th century. The term is still sometimes used today to refer to an investigative journalist. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1.
