| CENSOR (1) Definition: A person whose job is to examine books, films/movies, etc. and remove parts which are considered to be offensive, immoral or a political threat. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine or ten elements, as applicable, should be in. 1. Has a purpose and is considered a necessity. 2. Qualified by training and/or experience to know 'the good, the bad and the ugly'. ________ 3. Performs performs duty excellently. That is, examination of books, etc. is thorough and complete, removing the appropriate part(s), where necessary (connect to #5). 4. Part(s) that is/are removed is/are not passed to another person or party ( = author, scriptwriter, producer, etc.) for a pecuniary gain. ________ 5. Person's objectivity is beyond reproach. 6. Book, film, etc. does not turn a flop because of the part(s) removed (to emphasize). 8. No bootleg or pirated copies of book, etc. are out in the public domain to make work meaningless.
