Cellphone etiquette
CELLPHONE ETIQUETTE

Definition: (informal) The manner of behaviour expected and considered acceptable when using a cellphone to communicate.

1. Purposeful and necessary to use gadget in the particularly reasonable way hoped for, especially in the presence of others.

2. If talk is audible, no lie or half-truth or white lie should be heard by others (connect to #1, to emphasize).

3. No rude movement, gesticulation, etc. is displayed by user. And there should be no intimidating, infuriating or unauthorized use of phone camera, recorder, battery, etc.

4. No secret or furtive use, especially in a solemn situation or formal meeting, particularly where use has been expressly banned or disallowed.

5. Ringtone will not be considered as being too loud, or an annoyance or as inconveniencing. That is, volume of voice, sound from pressure applied on device, etc. will be tolerable.

6. A direct contact with the eyes of another person, where necessary, will not be avoided or be inadequate, as a direct consequence of the use of mobile phone, such that an unplanned loss would arise. [Put it away, and pay attention, if someone is talking to your good self.]

7. Use of portable phone will not be distracting. That is, normal or routine activity expected of who is using gadget will not be hampered as a result of typing text, messaging, snapping, etc.

8. Device will not have priority over the use of voice or touch to pass a message across. That is, equipment will not replace the senses.

9. Not flaunted, whatever the make. That is, not flamboyantly exposed when not being used or when not about to be used! (See definition.)
