CATAPULT (1)

Definition: (British English) A stick shaped like a Y with a rubber band attached to it, used by children for shooting stones.

1. Purposeful and necessary (see definition).

2. Band is firmly attached to stick (= the Y's branches).

3. Strength and/or elasticity of band will be considered adequate.

4. Part in which stone is to be placed is made of the right material; leather, cloth, rubber, etc.

5. Condition of the stone-holder will be suitable.

6. Length of band will be right to make 'weapon' effective; will not make handling difficult.

7. 'Handle' or bottom of stick will be in the right state to enable a proper grip or firm hold. That is, nothing extraneous will be on it.

8. The 'nest' for stone will be tied tightly to rubber band and will be of the right measurement/size.

9. Serves purpose(s), whether user(s) gets into trouble or not !
