| CASH BOOK Definitions: i. (finance) A record that a business uses to record all money spent and received, either through the bank or as cash. ii. A book recording cash received and paid out. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to have form of record, balanced or not. 2. The format will be as prescribed for type of business. That is, its lines and/or the rows and columns will be properly arranged. 3. Details therein will be current and whole. That is, the credits and payments will be possible to be seen, on the same sheet or page. 4. Entries will be rightly made - dates, narration or narrative, figures, cheque numbers, contra sign(s), etc. will be in order. 5. The particulars will be complete and clear, typed or handwritten, with or without neat cancellation(s) and/or authentication. 6.
