| CARPETBAGGER (1) Definition: (disapproving) A politician who tries to be elected in an area where he or she is not known and is therefore not welcome. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine or ten elements, as applicable, would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary - the seeking of approval or acceptance (= votes). 2. Politician genuinely won nomination. That is, candidacy/candidate is valid/eligible (to emphasize). __________________ 3. Politician campaigns in the locality. 4. Manifesto (= promises, pledges, party program, etc.) is pro-people, pro-environment and progressive. __________________ 5. Rallies, etc. are organized and these are attended by the locals (connect to #3). 6. No physical injuries are inflicted on politician or person(s) in his or her team during the campaigns. And no unplanned loss during this period for 'strange' politician(s). __________________ 7. (Reserved.) (Politician is generally better qualified than the opponent, if any.) 8. Dislike is confirmed on election day, at the polling booth! That is, politician loses election. __________________ 9. Politician - who is now known - will visit and campaign in the area at the next election (if applicable). 10.
