| CAREER BREAK Definition: A period of time when you do not do your usual job, for example because you have children to care for. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (to emphasize, see definition). 2. Necessity. That is, break is planned or programmed and, therefore, prepared for. In other words, period will be positively maximally made use of, beneficial, without an unplanned loss being suffered. 3. Authorized and/or approved accordingly. That is, all the conditions, such as pay and allowances, duration, etc. accompanying the break, are known to you. __________________ NOT FORCED. 4. You are not out of touch with the career while 'outside'. That is, what you did while you worked actively is not forgotten during or after the 'holiday'. 5. Reason for break is worthwhile. And/or you are profitably engaged during the period (to emphasize, connect to #2). 6. On resumption, you are put on the appropriate (= previous or a higher, if due) level or grade. (Connect to #3.) That is, no right or privilege, at place of work, will be lost or denied during period. ____________________ NOT REGRETTED. 7. (Reserved.) (You do not visit the workplace, factory, office, etc. during the period, unless officially summoned.) 8. 'Vacation' will not be extended beyond the official period. And your performance on resumption will not be below the usual expected standard (connect to #4). 9.
