| CARDINAL SIN (2) Definitions: i. (sometimes humorous) An action that is a serious mistake or that other people disapprove of. ii. If you describe an action as a cardinal sin, you are indicating that some people strongly disapprove of it. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Aftermath of mistake or outcome of action will certainly be a loss, shame, disgrace, inconvenience, etc. _____________________________ >>> ... NO COMMON SENSE. 2. Action will be considered, especially by the others, as abusive, threatening, insulting, or offensive, even if only to their senses, though they may not be immune from committing same error. 3. Blame for mistake cannot be shifted in the situation. And what was wrongly done or left undone could have been avoided. That is, there was no compulsion to do what led to an error that others disapproved. ______________________________ See perfect BROWN-NOSING. 4. Action cannot be defended and an apology for mistake won't fly. That is, a reason or justification for mistake will not be accepted. 5. What is wrongly or badly done belittles offender or 'sinner', especially in the eyes of the holier-than-thous. ______________________________ See perfect REPUTATION. 6. Action is not specifically listed as illegal or unlawful. 7. Serious mistake cannot be corrected; action cannot be undone.
