| NON-COMBATANT (1) Definitions: i. A member of the Armed forces who does not actually fight in a war, for example and army doctor. ii. Anyone connected with an army who is there for some other purpose other than that of fighting, as a surgeon, a chaplain. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Earned commission or recruitment (= conscription?). 2. Knows purpose and necessity of being in profession. 3. Trained appropriately, and so made fit for purpose. 4. Suffers no inferiority complex during the training. 5. Performing assigned roles to the best of abilities. 6. Unafraid of the front lines or an operational area. 7. Remains in service through a war time (to emphasize). 8. Must display discipline on getting back to Civvy Street. 9.
