| EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE Definitions: i. (in the US) The right of the President and the executive part of the government to keep official documents secret. ii. The power of the President of the United States and other members of the executive branch of the United States Government to resist certain subpoenas and other interventions by the legislature and judicial branches of government in pursuit of information or personnel relating to the executive. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should and would be in. 1. Encumbrance, conditionality, legal challenge, etc. not a characteristic during this period. 6. Immunity, security, sustenance, etc. available throughout a President's or an executive's tenure. 7.
